Minister James B. Wright is a life-long resident of Miami, Florida, and spent his entire adult life in public service. He attended public school and after graduation attended Barry University, Miami Shores, FL, where he obtained both his undergrad and graduate degrees in Public Administration. He is a worshiper and giver at heart.

 

In 1997, God impressed him to leave the leadership where he attended since childhood, and after being properly released, he joined Pastor Anthony Wilson at Oasis Christian Ministries International where he served for 22 years. Recognizing and nurturing the anointing and calling upon his life, Pastor Wilson ordained him as a Minister of the Gospel in 1998 and appointed him to serve as one of three associate pastors. He later appointed him to various offices and positions within the church to include the following: Service coordinator where he facilitated Sunday service, oversaw the greeters, ushers, altar workers, and sound and recording. He served as the intergovernmental liaison where he resolved governmental issues affecting the ministry, head of security and armor bearer, Adult Bible Class Teacher and Adult Sunday School Leader.  After being properly released, he began his service at Disruption Nation in 2019, under Dr. Ursula T. Wright, where he is preparing to enter prophetic training and is completing the Advanced Ministerial Practicum. His dominate style for delivering the Word is teaching.

 

Professionally, Minister James retired after 31 years of public service, after rising to the top of his field as a police chief. He founded Wright Worldwide Inc., parent company to Wright Worldwide Protection LLC and Protective Services International, a company he acquired in 2019. These companies operate in the personal security space offering a range of services for high net worth clients, special event security, talent protection and anti-piracy for the Motion Picture Association.

 

During his distinguished career, he served and was appointed to various leadership positions and served on many community-based organizations. When Senator Charlie Crist was Florida’s Attorney General, he served his statewide public safety/policy council which served to advise the AG how laws affected everyday Floridians. He was later selected to serve on his Transition Team when he was elected as Florida’s Governor. He was appointed, by Treasury Secretary Robert E. Rubin, to the nation’s first ever Taxpayer Advocacy Panel for the IRS. He served as an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority for 13 years, presiding over Title VII employment-related claims. In addition, he served on the Miami-Dade Community Relations Board and the subcommittee for police involved shootings. He serves as a role model for the 5000 Role Models of Excellence, a mentoring program for Black boys, and the Miami-Dade Economic Advisory Trust’s Economic Development Action Committee.  

 

In addition to his master’s in public administration, Chief Wright is a Certified Anti-Terrorism Specialist, and was certified in this field by The Anti-Terrorism Accreditation Board.
